fema Public Assistance Program Reimburses State $8.2 Million: More To Come
SOUTH CHARLESTON, W. Va. — The early May storms that resulted in a Federal disaster declaration for the State of West Virginia caused damage to public facilities as well as homes and businesses. Following a request by Governor Joe Manchin and damage assessments by the State and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (fema) the Federal Public Assistance program has to date, obligated more than $8.2 million in grants for debris removal, emergency protective measures, repair of road systems and bridges, and parks and recreational facilities.

FEMA Funding Reaches Over $5 Million For December Ice Storm Recovery
HOLYOKE, MA. — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (fema) has now obligated in excess of $5 million to reimburse seven Massachusetts counties for the eligible costs associated with their response to the December 11, 2008 ice storm.

Dozier Elementary Safeguards Next Generation
ERATH, La. — While Rita-related repair work to restore Dozier Elementary School is currently underway, residents of Vermilion Parish may also notice a new addition to the school’s campus. A five-foot floodwall is being built around the facility, thanks to the school board’s smart planning and a recent federal grant, announced by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (fema) and the Louisiana Recovery Authority (LRA).
