Shiawassee County Flood Risk Open House To Take Place Nov. 30


CHICAGO, Ill. — Representatives from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security s Federal Emergency Management Agency (fema), in conjunction with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, will host a flood risk information open house on Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Caledonia Township Hall, 135 N. State Road in Owosso, Mich. Newly released preliminary Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps will be displayed so residents can learn about their risk of flooding and how this will affect their lives and property. Those interested may drop in at any time during the event to discuss mapping issues with MDEQ representatives.
