President Declares Major disaster For New York
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (fema) today announced that federal disaster aid has been made available for the state of New York to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by a severe winter storm during the period of December 11-31, 2008.

Regional Infrastructure Report Cards
There have been two recent additions to the ranks of the regional Report Cards: California and North Carolina. In the last half of September ASCE Sections from these two states released their regional Report Cards bringing the total number of state or regional Report Cards to nineteen.
