The U.S. Department of Homeland Security s Federal Emergency Management Agency will evaluate a Biennial Emergency Preparedness Exercise at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station. The week-long exercise, which will begin on January 25, will test the ability of the State of Maryland to respond to an emergency at the nuclear facility.

This extension is being granted in recognition of the difficulties that NFIP policy holders may have encountered while trying to schedule meetings with adjusters and contractors during the Holiday Season.

A door-to-door campaign to inform residents about the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) will occur Tuesday, February 2, 2010, in one of Norfolk’s hardest hit areas.
