LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (fema) announced today the implementation of a new website that provides the general public, the media, county, state and federal officials with information about the three federally declared disasters that occurred in Arkansas earlier this year.

fema Awards Over Two Hundred Grants To Fire Departments From The Assistance To Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program
DENTON, TX — Today, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (fema) awarded $173,865 from the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program to local fire departments and organizations in the state of Texas. Nationally, the fiscal year (FY) 2008 AFG awards will provide approximately $500 million to fire departments and nonaffiliated emergency medical service organizations throughout the country.

OAKLAND, Calif. — The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (fema) has authorized the use of federal funds to help Arizona fight the Mule Pass Fire in Cochise County.

Waipahu disaster Recovery Center To Close Saturday
HONOLULU, Hawaii — The disaster Recovery Center (DRC) at the Filipino Community Center in Waipahu will close at the end of business Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. Three other DRCs remain open to serve Oahu residents affected by the severe storms and flooding of Dec. 10 to 16, 2008.

Additional Millions Provided To Rebuild Orleans Nursing Home
NEW ORLEANS, La. — Lafon Nursing Facility of the Holy Family, with the help of an additional $2.3 million federal grant, is currently rebuilding so that it can once again service New Orleans’ elderly, announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (fema) and the Louisiana Recovery Authority (LRA).
