Joint State/FEMA assistance reaches $1 billion for state of Iowa


DES MOINES, Iowa — As the one-year anniversary of the devastating floods and tornadoes that struck Iowa last May and June nears, disaster assistance approved for residents and governments in the State of Iowa has reached $1 billion, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (fema) and State of Iowa disaster recovery officials as they release county-by-county data for its Individual Assistance and Public Assistance programs, and U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) disaster loans.
